Ну там есть такое движение - Adopt-A-Highway -- ну да, типа взять шефство. Платишь что-то, а на твои трудовые данный конкретный участок шоссе чинится. Ещё есть Adopt-A-Stream - в засушливых местах, которых больше чем полстраны:
