С восторгом, как подросток книги о военной технике, читаю "The Practice of System and Network Administration, 2^nd Ed." by Limoncelli et al. Захотел стать weissmann и повелевать роутерами.

В обзорной главе про сети наткнулся на шутку, милую не только сердцу сисадмина, но и сердцу старого telco-программиста.

A common joke is that the OSI model has three additional layers:

• Layer 8: User
• Layer 9: Financial
• Layer 10: Political

Many corporate network architectures focus on solving problems at Layer 10, but are limited by Layer 9 in what they can achieve.
