The habit of adding some cowberry jam to a large piece of meat should be indeed regarded as a high achievement of Scandinavian civilization. I suppose Slavic people (especially Polish) learned it from here.

All kinds of Swedish beer I have tried here are just very good. Nothing more to say about it. For me, Swedish beer is next only to Danish. However, I might be biased.

Coffee is, unfortunately, extremely poor here, even in coffee shops. There must be something in Germanic heritage that prevents Swedes from making a decent coffee.

Have you tried 'Falcon' beer already?

PS. For the decent coffee shops you should visit Holland :-)

It is a beer. Just a good beer. At least it was good 10 years ago when they were exporting it to Russia. I haven't seen it after they stopped exporting it, so I wonder if it is still good.

So, after the weekend is over, I can tell you about that at last. On Friday night I was taught that there are three big, that is, famous nation-wide breweries in Sweden. One of them is Falcon and the other two I have yet to learn how to spell and pronounce. I was drinking Falcon all over the weekend, both in restaurants and from a six-pack I bought in a supermarket next to my hotel. I also tried the two others. I would say that Falcon's "Pilsner" variety is really good (it's not called Pilsner however, but some other difficult Swedish — I mean the general type). However, the best one from my point of view is one of the two others. I'll note down its name this week, because one of the restaurants we lunch at serves only this beer.

Actually, they do serve ice-tea in their coffee-shops. However, since their coffee sucks big, I hesitated to try other delicacies there. Next time I go for a walk downtown I'll try it and communicate to you my impressions afterwads.
